Hello Readers!
Out of all the things going on in my life now, one thing sticks out as important. That is my custom TCG, or trading card game, Lego Battles: The Card Game. Although I've got much of it figured out, I still have a few things left. Some are pretty big, but I should have no trouble solving them.
To add some pressure, I am now working on a deadline. On the 21st of this month, I am going to a Boy Scout Merit Badge Clinic, which is put on by Flint Hills Technical College. There, I will earn the Game Design Merit Badge. That's the badge I am using my TCG for. I don't need to have everything, but I do need to finish all the major parts of the game with what little time I have left. I will have to hurry.
The big things I have left is making the physical cards and setting a Life Point total. The player's Life Points is their life that is reduced by the other player. When 1 player reduces their opponent's Life to zero, they win. I originally had the starting Life about 10 to 20, but recently I have been thinking closer to 40 or 50. As for the cards, I must write down all the stats of a Minifigure, or Lego person, on a note card. I currently do not have the resources to print official-looking cards, but I am working on it.
Finally, as a card game, I must also design each and every card individually. It is not easy. I do not want to make a card so powerful it is unfair or so weak that players wouldn't use it in a competitive deck. I think so far, most of the cards I have designed are pretty well balanced, but I still have a few to finish before the 21st.
